The outpatient program strives to meet the needs of the Anishinabek population of children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly through the delivery of integrated services. This program is guided by ideals and principles that are reflective of the Anishinabek values and beliefs.

Services Offered

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is a direct, active and personal approach that focuses on increasing your individual self-awareness, understanding, and adjustment. Individual counseling can help you identify the most effective ways for you personally to achieve your desired goals, as well as provide you with the tools to cope with difficult circumstances that may arise along the way.

Case Management

A Case manager works with individuals to navigate through formal and informal systems. Such systems include Children and Family Services, Court, Housing, Employment, Budgeting and much more. Case Managers can help to establish a connection, advocate and provide support to achieve an individual's goals.

Psychological Services

Neuropsychological evaluations are requested specifically to help your physicians and other professional understand how the different areas and systems of the brain work. Referrals are made to diagnose or rule out conditions that may be having an impact on a person's current situation. Currently Behavioral Health makes referrals to an outside provider for psychological testing.

Psychiatric Services

We have a psychiatrist available for medication management and evaluations. In order to be seen by the psychiatrist you must be a client of Behavioral Health and be actively participating in therapy.

Intensive Outpatient Program

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) consists of a series of three group sessions per week, each session being 3 hours in duration. The IOP program meets at the Behavioral Health building during the afternoon from 1pm to 4pm Tuesday through Thursday. This program is a step down program from such programs as residential or detox programs. It is more intensive and integrated than traditional outpatient services. The IOP program offers education on wellness and recovery including such topics as the disease concept of addiction, family impact, values clarification, anger, stress, problem solving, social skills and relapse prevention. Clients are referred to the program through their primary therapist.

School Based Services

The School-Based Services program is designed for students at risk of, Special Education classifications for academic, emotional or behavioral problems. The primary purpose of the School Based Consulting Clinician (SBCC) is to respond to the children's needs by working closely with school staff, identifying students with unmet needs, and facilitating entry into services needed. The SBCC also acts as a consultant to local districts in developing programs to serve students and benefit staff.
