SCIT Tribal Member Career Soaring Program
Program Purpose
The purpose of the SCIT Tribal Member Career Soaring Program is to assist SCIT Native Americans in Entering and Succeeding in the SCIT Workforce.
Career Planning Process
Tribal Development Coordinator, Betsey Alonzo, has created a uniquely designed Seven Step Career Development Process based off of the NCDA's official Career Planning Process, to assist SCIT Tribal Members in entering and succeeding in the Tribal workforce. Betsey has recently completed the National Career Development Association (NCDA), Facilitating Career Development Training and has earned recognition as a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCFD) from the Center of Credentialing and Education, Inc. Betsey will be overseeing the new Career Soaring program. It is our programs mission to increase the number of successful Native American Employees within our Tribal Organizations.
The Career Development Process is an independent journey that involves developing and refining your goals. This journey unfolds throughout life as you gain skills, knowledge, and experiences. Although career development is not a linear process, it starts with recognizing a need for change, it involves learning about yourself, exploring your interests, narrowing your options, and finding a fitting occupation.
We are here to support and encourage your career journey efforts. We want you to find your inspiration, dream big for yourself, follow those dreams and grow with the Organization. Mnaajtoon Enaamdaman (Honor Your Dream/Vision)

Career Self-Assessments
Find a career that matches your interests, interest assessments, career aptitude tests, and career quizzes can help you identify careers that meet your interests. Interest assessments usually ask you a series of questions about what you like and don't like to do. Then they match your likes and dislikes to careers. When you choose a career that matches your overall interests, you're more likely to enjoy your job. You're also more likely to be successful.
