IT’s Multimedia Development unit (A.K.A. SCITMedia) produces projects for Tribal organizations, departments, groups, or enterprises.
- We do not create projects for individuals (individual employees or individual Tribal members)
- We do not loan or rent any of our equipment or studio spaces to anyone. It is highly specialized equipment, the equipment is quite expensive, and our staff is skilled in the use of this equipment. We can be available to capture events days, nights, or weekends, but need a minimum advanced notice of at least 3 days for local events and 2 weeks for events requiring travel. Travel costs must be borne by the organization, department, group or enterprise requesting our remote services.
Video or Audio: In terms of resources, SCITMedia can capture the entirety of single-day/single-track events for promotional or archival purposes. We do not have sufficient staff or equipment resources to capture multi-day or multi-track events (e.g., a 3-day conference, a day long seminar with concurrent session tracks, etc.) with the idea of archiving the entire event; however, we can provide a sampling overview of these events to be used in subsequent presentations or for committing to your archives.
- If you want an edited, professionally packaged audio or video production as a final result, please remember that the “story” we assemble belongs to your organization, but the copyright of the electronically published end product is owned by the Tribe.
- Since the copyright for the final product belongs to the Tribe on anything Multimedia Development electronically publishes, if you wish to sell the final product, your organization must make special arrangements approved by Tribal Council and coordinated through the legal and accounting departments for such sales. IF sales is your only end goal, Multimedia Development needs to be presented with written clearance from Council to proceed with the project before beginning work on the project.
- Multimedia Development / SCITMedia creates production masters. We do not represent a permanent archiving facility (though we may assist archival organizations in creating archival materials), nor are we currently capable of mass-production of large quantities (more than a dozen of anything) for any given project. Mass production must currently be outsourced.
-
- What you “own” is the final assembled story approved by your organization. However, Multimedia Development (SCITMedia) may use small portions of your end production, or any outtakes in future projects for other organizations (of course, except for confidential or culturally sensitive material).
Since the Web, video, or audio content belongs to your organization, it is best if you can provide us with some type of layout or script. We are most happy to consult with you in developing things if you lack familiarity with these methods of communication. We welcome and need critical feedback from you or a representative when completing the final edited product.
We do archive final, approved projects. We do not store raw materials long term (this may include large event captures). Once we deliver an approved final production, most leftover materials will be permanently deleted. If you want permanent storage of the raw material, you must provide us with media on which to store the raw footage. Word of caution: Beta or some of the digital videotapes are rather expensive ($30-40 per tape).
