Leadership Award given to Simon Quigno

The SCIT Afterschool Program would like to congratulate Simon Quigno for being our Sept. 24th Eagle Leadership Award recipient. Simon's award was presented by ZCS Visitor Service Representative Raymond Cadotte. Simon's mom, Rhonda Quigno is right behind him with proud Grandmother Cindy Quigno joining in at the brief ceremony in the museum lobby. Simon also received a gift certificate from Red Arrow Pizza for participating in all afterschool activities and modeling good citizenship to his fellow students. ZCS Visitor Services Coordinator Yvette Pitawanakwat took the students through Ojibwe language exercises while ZCS Assistant director Judy Pamp informed the students of their Performance Circle group and their upcoming "free museum day" on this Saturday at ZCS (Ziibiwing is recognized by the Smithsonian Institute is one of the premier Native museums in the country). The SCIT Afterschool Program would like to congratulate Dawnseh Wilson for being our first Eagle Leadership Award winner of the school year. Her award was presented by Tribal Council Sub-Chief Julius Peters and he was joined by fellow Council Members Lorna Kahgegab Call and Michele Stanley. Dawnseh proud mom (Tahsheenah Foley) was a surprise guest at the brief Eagles Nest ceremony. Dawnseh also received a gift certificate from Red Arrow Pizza for participating in all afterschool activities, having outstanding good behavior and being a leader and positive role model to her fellow students.
