Consuelo Gonzalez's 6th grade Eagle girls basketball team did an amazing job during both games in Ithaca on Sunday February 5, 2012 against Fulton and Ithaca! The first game against Fulton (24-25) was very competitive, the girls team won by 1 point. The girls were so happy that they won their first game that they were ready to play the next game.
The second game against Ithaca (14-18) started off amazing because the Eagles (18-14) were working it on that court. Eagles were ahead by 11 points and they seemed as if they were pretty tired.
Monica Gonzalez and Roger Tackett did an amazing job filling in for Coach Consuelo Gonzalez and Assistant Coach Bear Raphael because the girls were confident and each player gave their all. The team definitely surprised their many supporters in the bleachers because the girls worked as a team and they really showed their team spirit. After the games were over, the Eagles celebrated by smiling and jumping up and down together. Congratulations to both Coach Consuelo, the other coaches and, of course, Team Eagles! These girls did an amazing job their first game and everyone should get out and cheer them on!
