Services: Thursday, March 25th at 2 p.m. (Clark Family Funeral Chapel)

Visitation: Tuesday, March 23rd from 7-9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. (Clark Family Funeral Chapel) and Wednesday, March 24th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. (Clark Family Funeral Chapel)

Thomas Samuel Chamberlain, Jr., 70, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at his residence.

Funeral services for Thomas will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 25th at 2 p.m. with Pastor Doyle Perry officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 23rd from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 24th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. on both evenings. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Thomas was born on March 12, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Thomas Samuel, Sr. and Leona (Davis) Chamberlain.

Thomas owned Independent Roofing in Metarie, Louisiana for 48 years. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and found God through the Faith Indian Church, where he served on the Elders Board. Thomas boxed Golden Gloves and was a member of a professional pool league. He also played softball and sponsored a softball league in Metarie, Louisiana. Thomas enjoyed Keno, playing cards, and going on senior trips.


Thomas is survived by his children, Mark Starkey, Tammy Chamberlain, Tommy Chamberlain (Vicky Escedo), Richard Chamberlain, and Jaimee Chamberlain (Aaron Hall), all of Mt. Pleasant; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Chamberlain and Alvin (Theresa) Chamberlain, both of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Marilyn (Richard) Sprague of Shelbyville, MI, Alfreda (Keith) Mandoka, Juanita Slater (Scott Cluley), and Ester (Wallace) Chatfield, all of Mt. Pleasant.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Chamberlain; son-in-law, Frank Graham; sisters, Margaret (Arnold) Sowmick and Joyce Francis; brothers-in-law, John William and Charles Slater; and niece, Meghan Williams.
