Betty Jane Powell, aged 80, long time resident of Lowell, passed away after a long illness, Saturday, September 4, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Shelley Ann Thomas and Fondarae Brown; son-in-law, Chris Thomas. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lloyd Powell; children, Jane Smith, Lewis Powell, and Lloyd Powell, Jr.; son-in-law, Edward Brown; brother, William (Louise) Bouck; sister, Gloria (Robert) King; nine grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty was a Native American Indian and member of the Black River Saginaw Chippewa Tribe. She raised her five children, loved her animals, and traveling with Lloyd all over the United States.
