Debra passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011, at St. Mary's of Michigan after a four-month battle with cancer.
Debra Davette Coon was born January 18, 1954, in Midland, the daughter of Wanna Lee (Hash) and the late Robert Jackie Coon. She attended Douglas MacArthur High School. She had been employed at Tiny Tot Diaper Service for several years. She recently was employed as Banquet Coordinator by Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Haus in Frankenmuth. She was a member of the Catholic Faith. She was also a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. She enjoyed going to the Casino, travelling, and especially being with her grandchildren.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Jeffrey (Lisa) Schrems, and Stacey Schrems (Angela Rushlow), and their father, Richard Schrems; three grandchildren, Keegan, Paige and Layten; her mother, Wanna Coon; two brothers, one sister and their families; and many special friends.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. David Parsch will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday where a Parish Vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Family and friends may then call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
