Hazel Foster Bailey, age 90, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday March 14, 2011 at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Hazel was born on December 13, 1920 in Wise Township, the daughter of George and Irene Wheaton Mogg.
Funeral services for Hazel will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the Helms Chapel of Rowley Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Doyle Perry and Rev. Owen Smith of the Faith Indian Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will be next to her first husband, Jessie Foster, in Coleman Cemetery in Warren Township. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.
Hazel married Jessie Foster in 1942 and he preceded her in death. She worked at the AC Spark Plug/General Motors Flint Division for 23 years. She moved to the Mt. Pleasant are in 1987. Hazel married Perry Bailey in November of 1998 and he preceded her in death in 2001. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, her church family and traveling.
Hazel is survived by her two sons, Gary Lee (Julie) Foster of Vine Grove, Kentucky and Dennis D. Foster of Swartz Creek; three grandchildren, Nathan, Jennifer, and Nicholas; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two brothers, Lawrence Mogg and Patrick Mogg; and a sister, Maxine Schaffer.
