Carolyn Kay Cleveland "Princess Morning Star", 69, of Grand Haven went to be with her Lord with her family by her side, on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Chestnut Fields Assisted Living.
Funeral services for Princess Morning Star will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Owen White-Pigeon officiating. Interment will follow in the Denver Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Princess Morning Star was born on August 3, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of S. Mathew John Collins and Velma Edith Smith. She married Kyren R. Cleveland, who preceded her in death. Princess Morning Star was a member of SCIT, and was baptized Methodist. She enjoyed bingo, the casino, art, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Princess Morning Star is survived by her children, Valorie (Scott) Semmens from Spring Lake, Veronica Bos, Gary Semmens, Volinda (Perry) Morsey, Vincent Cleveland and fiancee, Anita Cross, all of Fruitport, and Varen Cleveland and fiancee April Wilson of Ohio; grandchildren, Scott C. Jr. (Crystal), Sarah L. (Ernest), Kameron Nicole, Paige, Brandy K, Velorie Jean, Careena Ann, Jenny Lynn (Jordan), Daisy (Dan), Johathan, Vincent, Nick, Trisha, Eric, Darci Renee, Alexis, and Varen, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Victor, Antonnio, Elijah, Marissa, KayLee, Christian, and one on the way, McKenzie, Justice, Libby, James, Isabella, Liam, Jayden, Analicia, Peyton, Kyren, Cody, and one on the way; brother, Richard (Edith) Collins of the Upper Peninsula; sisters, Jean (Joe) Lang of Grand Haven, Deloris Stillson of Grand Haven, and JoAnn (James) Clark of Twin Lake.
Princess Morning Star was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kyren; brother, John Collins; baby sister, Mary Rebecca; nephews, Chris, Mathew B., and Mathew C.
