Victor Randel Jackson, 69, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services for Victor will be held at Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Owen White-Pigeon officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 11th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the church and also on Wednesday, October 12th from 1 p.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norval K. Morey Cancer Center. Envelopes will be available at the Clark Family Funeral Chapel and the church.
Victor was born on May 6, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Arthur and Ida Jackson. He married Joanne Craig on May 29, 1997 in Mt. Pleasant. Victor was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. He enjoyed listening to music and visiting and helping people.
Victor is survived by wife Joanne Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; son, Willie Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; step children, Michael Stephens of Tennessee; Debra Wierda of Rockford; sister, Ida Ruth Lenhart of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Stuart (Linda) Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; Loren Jackson of Weidman; eleven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; special friend and caretaker Kevin Snyder and Tim and Dawn Bennett and Laura; and his nurse Cindy.
