Robert "Bob" Miner, 74, of Pinconning, died on Nov. 22, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Bob was born on Nov. 6, 1937 in Midland to the late Walter Charles Miner and Rose(Williams) Miner-LaPlant. On March 29, 1958 he married the former Mary Jane Austin.
Bob retired from the Midland Public Schools - Grounds Department.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was very much at home in the woods or on a river bank. He and Mary Jane were always taking their trips "up north". Bob was also a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
Bob will be missed by many nieces and nephews and especially his good friend Tom Brady
Bob is survived by his wife Mary Jane; his daughters Patrina and her children Lara and Anthony; Debra Carpenter and Tom Pickens and Debra's son Tommy (Diandra) Carpenter; granddaughter Nichole Miner. He is also survived by his great grandson, Cody Rowland of Harrison and his sister, Rosalie Bloom.
Bob was proceeded in death by his daughter Katrina Miner; brothers, Donald, Gerald and Walter (Junior) and sisters Etta Nettleton, Mary Lu Cohee and Bonnie McGill.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, with Pastor Gib Giblin of the Midland Evangelical Free Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, on Friday, from 11:00 am until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held on Dec. 2, 2011 at 11:00 am at Midland City Cemetery.
