Richard Earl "Snooks" Davis, 78, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Central Michigan Community Hospital.
Funeral Services for Richard will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 26 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Owen White-Pigeon officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26 from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Richard was born on July 4, 1933 in Flint, the son of John and Jessie (Chickum) Davis. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Richard went by "Snooks" or "String Bean" by family and friends. He loved John Deere tractors, hunting, and Old Milwaukee. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and he loved it when Dave Jacobs from Howell came up to spend time with him. He enjoyed having Garland Moses and Larry Pelcher come and help him around the yard. Richard loved going for car rides with his significant other and he loved playing his guitar. He loved when Josh Trepanier called him and visited with him and when his "Little Helpers", grandchildren, Brandy and David stayed over every weekend and took care of him.
Richard is survived by his significant other of 30 years, Connie Wing; children, Casey (Jason Dunnigan) Davis, Richard "Lil Man" (Lisa) Davis; step-son, William "Buzz" (Kristal Bushre) Wing, all of Mt. Pleasant; 7 grandchildren, Brandy Russell, David Culhane, Jonathan Davis, Jasmine Davis, Richard Earl Davis, Miles Davis, and Clayton Davis; sister, Beatrice Peters and Dorothy Dale; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jessie Davis; brothers, Louis Henry, Paul Davis and John Davis Jr.; sisters, Marjorie Benz, Geraldine Trepanier and Florence Watkins
