James G. Stinson, 84, of Rosebush passed away at McLaren CMCH in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral Services for Jim will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 12 noon to the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andahwod Community Center or to McLaren CMCH. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Jim was born on December 31, 1927 in Pontiac, MI, the son of Jimmie and Stella (Strong) Stinson. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Thayer, on June 26, 1965 in Farwell.
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bonnie; daughters, Lanette (Steve) Zaleski of Mt. Pleasant and Janice Roach of FL; sisters, Jackie Roach and Eleanor "Beth" (Ken) Lester; favorite sister in law, Marcia Flegel; grandchildren, James Robert, Shane, Tommy, Rodney, Teddy and Rachel; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia; his parents and mother and father in law, Geneva and Harold Thayer; brothers, Harvey and Ted; sisters, Sally and Janice; and brothers in law, Norris and Wayne Thayer.
