Joseph "Little Joe" Sprague, age 52, of Mt. Pleasant passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 15, 2012.
Funeral services for Joe will be held at the Tribal Gym on Wednesday, September 19, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Doyle Perry officiating. Graveside Services will be held at the Bradley Indian Cemetery in Bradley on Thursday, September 20, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Sandra VandenBrink officiating. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the gym.
Joe was born on December 14, 1959, in Carson City, the son of Joseph and Sarah (White-Pigeon) Sprague. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Joe was a loving soul mate to Melita Trepanier. Also a loving father, brother, and uncle. He was loved by many, adored by all and will surely be missed.
Joe is survived by his soul mate, Melita Trepanier; children, Christina Otto, Catherine and Joe Sprague III; step-children, Juan Palacios, Melita Trepanier, Cheyanna Palacios, and Joseph Palacios Trepanier; brothers, George Sprague, Lewis (Connie) Sprague, Henry (Sue) Sprague, Matt Sprague, and Tim Sprague; sisters Alberta Popma, JoAnne (Tyne) Peters, Marian (Andy) Falcon; numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Sandy Sprague, brother-in-law Dan Popma.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Sprague; father, Joseph Sprague, Sr.; brother, Randy Sprague; sister, Linda Rose Shomin; brother-in-law, Paul Shomin; sister-in-law, Angela Hart Wemigwans; three nieces and a nephew.
