Rodney Alan Jackson, Sr., 38, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
A Memorial Service for Rodney will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 24, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Owen White-Pigeon officiating. Interment will take place in the Chippewa Township Cemetery. The family will gather with friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, October 23, from 5-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to H.A.T.S. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Rodney was born in Alma, MI, on December 11, 1973, the son of David Chapman and Janet Jackson. He was previously employed with Yellow Hammer Slot Company at the Soaring Eagle Casino and had previously been employed in the maintenance department for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Rodney was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. He enjoyed playing music and euchre. Rodney loved all sports, especially football and basketball and fishing.
Rodney is survived by his children, Kyle Shomin, Rodney Jackson, Jr., Edmund Jackson, and Brooklyn Jackson, all of Mt. Pleasant; his mother Janet Jackson of Mt. Pleasant, his father Dave (Janet) Chapman of Mt. Pleasant, grandfather Duane Chapman of Weidman and grandmother Frances Chapman of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandmother Beatrice Peters; sisters Breanna Barnhart, Arianne Barnhardt, Sheila Zuker and Nicole Chapman; and a little niece, Azzie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his grandparents Willis and Josephine Jackson, Uncles Jeffrey “Gut” Jackson and Barry “Bear” Jackson.
