Congressman offers his congratulations

The newly elected Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Council was honored by U.S. Congressman Dave Camp, R-Midland, during a Jan. 4 luncheon where the following tribute was presented to them:
I offer my sincerest congratulations to Mr. Maynard N. Kahgegab Jr., Mr. Timothy J. Davis, Mr. David A. Otto, Mr. Gerald Slater, Ms. Diana Quigno-Grundahl, Ms. Ruth Moses, Ms. Lindy Hunt, Mr. Delmar Jackson Sr., Mr. Robert Pego Sr., Ms. Sue Durfee, Ms. Connie M. Freiburger and Mr. Ronald Jackson, for their election to the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan Tribal Council.
Today, I would like to pay tribute to these newly elected Council members for their extensive contribution in the promotion of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. They have consistently shown their loyalty to the Tribe through relentless advocacy for its members.
The commitment that these men and women display toward the advancement of the Tribe is a testament to their election to the Tribal Council. Their ongoing strides to maintain and promote a strong relationship between the Tribe and the local community make them shining examples for all who work toward the improvement of our society.
On behalf of the 4th Congressional District of Michigan, I am pleased to have the opportunity to recognize these newly elected Council members for their dedication and leadership.
As these 12 members are honored for their election to the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan Tribal Council, I would like to join their Tribe, family and friends in congratulating them on this achievement.
