Saginaw Chippewa Chief Audrey Falcon will touch upon highlights of the current Tribal Council administration as well as share a vision for the following year during the State of the Tribe address on Jan. 30.
Registration will begin at 1 p.m. in the Soaring Entertainment Hall, with the meeting beginning an hour later. Besides Chief Falcon's address, other Saginaw Chippewa officials will provide updates to the membership about various departmental activities, as well as discussing financial reports.
During last year's address, Falcon spoke of a membership unity, respect and communication.
"We want to provide the Tribal membership a government where open communication is valued and our cultural traditions of respect for one another is demonstrated through the following Seven Teachings of our Grandfathers-Honesty, Truth, Wisdom, Bravery, Love, Respect and Humility."
She maintains the current Tribal Council administration has made great strides in protecting sovereignty, while providing a better standard of living for the membership.
"These community meetings are an excellent opportunity for the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal membership to get together in an environment that fosters unity as we look to the future and the direction the Tribe is taking."
