Car show to heat up yearly powwow activities

Saginaw Chippewa Tribal members owning a classy chassis or rez rod have until July 23 to enter an upcoming inaugural car show during the 20th Annual Little Elk's Retreat Powwow.

The "Hot August �Rez' Rods" show on Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. is being sponsored by the At-Large Program, Soaring Eagle Marketing Department and Saga-mok A&W. The show will take place in the parking lot adjacent to Sagamok Shell at the corner of Leaton and Broadway Roads and is for Saginaw Chippewa Tribal members only.

Organizers are only accepting the first 100 vehicles for the event and trophies will be awarded to the top five most liked by the voters. A special gift will be given to the first 30 vehicles registered. Gift bags will be presented to all of the entries. For more information, contact Colleen Maki or Tina Myers at (800) 884-6271.
