Thirteen-year-old Cree Glavis is staging a return to this year's Native American Idol show.
"I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do," the Saginaw Chippewa Academy middle school student said. "I might sing a song with my sister Seneca, but I need to talk with her about what we might do."
During last year's event, Cree, Esther Mays-Cole and Erin Sprague dazzled the crowd with an inspriational version of "Angel" by Amanda Perez.
"It's fun being up there on stage singing," she added.
The second annual Native American Idol will take place on April 13 at 6 p.m and is scheduled in the Soaring Eagle Entertainment Hall.
Besides singing, the last year's show also featured interpretive dance, ballet, oration and piano-playing.
"It's basically an opportunity for the students to express their individual talents and interests regarding entertainment," stated middle school teacher John Shelton. "I get so excited about the talent show. The kids really put their hearts into it."
Middle school principal Judy Pamp echoed those sentiments.
"The students really look foward to the show," she explained. "They put a lot of effort into it. They're even talking about getting together over spring break to practice their acts."
