Tribal Operations Roof Repair

In an effort to provide regular bonus coverage throughout the month, Team Observer joins our Tribal Maintenance, Tribal Fire and the Parks & Recreation Department in support of the Tribal Operations roof repair project. Contractors Brown & Sons from Bay City has been selected for the project. They have begun moving their materials over for a Monday, Oct. 7 start. Tribal Fire Chief Fred Cantu confirms the proper permits were obtained and they are getting the hot tar ready for the project. "Community safety is always our primary concern," Cantu said. "Tribal Maintenance has blocked off the area and we are asking the community to keep any youth away from the area for their own safety." Parks & Recreation Director Ronnie Ekdahl welcomed the good news and is looking forward to the repair. "It has affected Tribal events and programming because the roof would leak on rainy days and produce a safety hazard in the Eagles Nest gym," Ekdahl explains. "Many community members know this facility dates back to the 70's and repairs will be needed and necessary." TremCo is the project manager with oversight being provided by SCIT Construction Manager Tom Kequom.
