There's no place like "Home for the Holidays" 11-25-15

In an effort to provide bonus coverage, Team Observer joined the SCIT Recreation Department as they ushered in the season with their 9th annual “Home for the Holidays” event on Nov. 25 at the Eagles Nest Tribal Gym. Fun, festivities and family filled the rafters as the community enjoyed a meal prepared by Central Michigan Catering supplemented by generous portions of potluck dishes provided by Tribal members and employees. SCIT Recreation Organizational Specialists Lucas Sprague, Walter Trepanier and Lindsey Sprague were joined by Youth and Family Recreation Specialist David Merrill in the coordination of the event.
“For as long as I have been working with the program, we have always looked at this as the one event that gears everyone right into the holiday season,” Sprague said. “The music and decorations set the atmosphere but it really comes down to the contests and the surprise guest we feature at the end of the program.”
The contests included a “last person standing” event along with a timed balloon bouncing and a snowman challenge. A full story will be featured in the January 2016 issue of the Tribal Observer.
