In an effort to provide bonus coverage, Team Observer was on location Saturday, December 5 at the Andahwod Continuing Care and Elder Services facility as the Elders enjoyed making holidays crafts. Andahwod Elder Community Activities Assistant Elisa Schleder informs Elders Carole Tally, Colleen Wagner, Raeann Maddox, Sara Martin ,Valerie Zocher and Becky Pamp-Ettinger participated in the festivities.
“The elders all had a great time learning a new skill braid in rug designing with the help of my granddaughters Marian and Felicia,” Schleder said. “We enjoy being able to share some laughs and good times and it’s a great activity for everyone to join in.”
The activity consisted of taking old tee shirts and making them into cloth strips to braid into other projects like throw rugs. The holiday craft will be featured in the upcoming January 2016 issue of the Tribal Observer.
