SCA Student of the Month Breakfast 1-8-2016
Joseph V. Sowmick - January 12, 2016
In an effort to provide bonus coverage, Team Observer joins the Tribal Education Department and the Saginaw Chippewa Academy as they celebrate the SCA December Student of the Month recipients.
SCIT Tribal Education Director Melissa Montoya and Tribal Council Member Lindy Hunt awarded the certificates to the following SCA students: Pre-K: Rocky Shomin, Kindergarten: Donovan Harris, First Grade: Kaleb Potter, Second grade: Quinn Pelcher, Third Grade: Anita Pelcher, Fourth Grade: Peyton Brabbs, Fifth Grade: Alberta Trepanier and Sixth Grade: Chelsea Pelcher.
The SCA Anishinabe Biimaadziwin Team Mino Ode Singers (Matthew J. Sprague, Nathan Isaac, James Day, Aaron Chivis and Joe Syrette) along with SCA Maintenance staffer Eric Sowmick offered a welcome song and honor song for the students. Syrette also offered a prayer in a good way for the day and for the breakfast.
Before the brief ceremony, SCA Administrative Assistant II Christina Sharp (pictured left) joined Montoya in presenting the SCA Educator of the Month award to SCA Bus Driver Therese Kennedy. An employee profile on Kennedy will be featured in the February edition of your Tribal Observer.
