HR gives a surprise recognition to four employees 3-3-16

In an effort to provide bonus coverage, Team Observer went on location March 3 to the Black Elk Building to take photos of employees who were unable to attend the February 20 Employee Recognition Banquet.   Interim Human Resources Director Louanna L. Bruner presided over an informal staff gathering at the Human Resources department this morning.

 

“It was a great way to start off our day by recognizing their dedication to the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.   I personally had a feeling that for some, they are pretty humble and didn’t want to draw attention to themselves. But their accomplishments are worthy of not only drawing attention too, but worthy of celebrating and that’s exactly what we did,” Bruner said.  “Assistant Human Resources Manager Mary Quigno suggested that we as a department should do something special for them, rather than just have them pick them up from Mary’s office. So we pretended to have a departmental meeting and caught them off guard!”

 

The employees who were recognized included Kassy Heard with 10 years of service, Stephanie Vogel with 15 years of service, Leigh Chippewa with 20 years of service and Jean Flamand with 20 years of service.

 

“I think the most surprised was Jean Flamand. She showed up to the meeting with a legal pad ready to take notes and was even more shocked that we had her certificate and lapel pin to present to her,” Bruner said.  “She had already picked both up from Mary’s office on Monday. I had corrupted her staff to sneak in her office and grab them without Jean noticing!”
