Tribal Council declared August to be American Indian Sobriety Month in 2004—joining fellow Tribes in honoring sobriety and encouraging a healthier community.
Now in the third year of planning events to recognize, support and honor those whose lives have been impacted by alcohol and other drugs, the American Indian Sobriety Month Committee has put together a calendar of events highlighting sober activities for the month of August.
Because of an escalating risk concerning the improper sale and storage for sale of pyrotechnics on the Isabella Reservation, a fireworks ordinance has been adopted.
Tribal members are encouraged to attend the community meeting on Aug. 3 at the Soaring Eagle Entertainment Hall.
Doors open at 8 am. for Tribal Clerk verification of identification and to receive a door prize ticket.
Information booths will be available to identify services to Tribal membership.
