Lean Processes: Like most businesses we do things the way we’ve always done them. In fact when asked why we do it that way, we often respond with “because that’s how we’ve always done it.” Because we’ve always done it a certain way we can be blind to the waste, the delays, the unnecessary steps we have in a process. Processes are based on assumptions that may no longer be relevant to the current work environment. So our purpose with Lean is to make the process visible (We call this the “Current State) and then using lean principles measurably improve it.
