The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe (SCIT) is hosting its semi-annual 2% distribution on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in Arenac County and on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Isabella County. The SCIT is dispersing funds, to qualifying local units of government and public schools, derived from Class III gaming at its properties: Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel

Since 1994 the Tribe has now shared in excess of $289 million dollars. The Spring 2024 2% distribution cycle saw just over 250 individual requests totaling over nine million dollars.  The SCIT plans to distribute a combined $3,251,839.98 during this spring’s distribution ceremonies. On Tuesday, May 28, 2024 $686,516.64 will be distributed in Arenac County to local units of government, with the local school districts receiving $294,221.42.  Local government officials in Isabella County will accept approved grants totaling $1,703,326.44 on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The educational leaders in Isabella County will receive an additional $567,775.48. For a full breakdown please see the attached list for both Isabella and Arenac/Northern Bay Counties.

The Arenac and Northern Bay County distribution will take place at the Saganing Tribal Center located at 5447 Sturman Road, Standish, Michigan on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. The Isabella County distribution takes place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Black Elk Building located at 7500 Soaring Eagle Blvd, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
