CHIPPEWAY, GENEVIEVE KAY, age 71, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, February 9,

2025, at Mclaren Bay Region Hospital.

Funeral Services for Genevieve will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel at 12 p.m. on Friday,

February 14, 2025. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. The

family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Thursday, February 13 from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. and

Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to

American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Genevieve was born September 5, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Fred and Frances

(Altman) Neyome. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and earned her associates

degree from Lansing Community College. Miss Gen, as she was known, worked for the Soaring

Eagle Casino in various capacities for many years. She was a slot manager at the casino and

finished her career in the accounting department for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, before

retiring in 2022. Gen loved bingo, reading, traveling, and watching her game shows and soap

operas.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Robert Bennett, Jr.; children, Darell (Courtney)

Chippeway, Starl,a Fuller, and Teela Chippeway, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Genna, Page,

Kayen, Tyler, Sadie, Nyah; and several nieces and nephews.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Shannon Chippeway; son Ryan

Chippeway; and sisters Eva Jackson and Eliza Owl.
