Pharmacy
Nimkee Pharmacy provides pharmacy services to patients of the Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center. Nimkee Pharmacy has been processing prescriptions using software and an electronic health record system since 2007. This enables the pharmacy to process prescriptions quickly and accurately and enables the pharmacy to share data with other members of the health care team. Patients are able to request refills via a telephone system, or smartphone application, by entering their prescription number into a queue which is processed when the pharmacy is open. The pharmacy maintains a broad formulary and is able to fill 99% of prescriptions issued by our Nimkee physicians. Environmentally friendly medication and bottle disposal is available on site.
Patients seen by Nimkee providers or referral providers may have their prescriptions filled at Nimkee Pharmacy. Individual counseling and education are also available. Patients may also receive smoking cessation treatment from the pharmacy. If the medication is not available through our pharmacy and you are eligible for contract health services, you may be able to fill the medication at another pharmacy. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is always available to answer your questions concerning your medications.
Requirements
There are a few requirements that must be met before prescriptions can be filled at the Nimkee Clinic. These include:
- Patients must be registered at the clinic and patients must be seen at least once every two years by their primary care provider at the Nimkee Memorial Wellness Center clinic. Patients must maintain establishment by completing annual updates as required.
- Prescriptions must be written by providers at the Nimkee Clinic or from a referred care physician. Emergency care prescriptions must be filled within 72 hours.

Nimkee Pharmacy is staffed by individuals with a unique set of talents and skills. The pharmacy manager is Eric Decker PharmD. The Nimkee Pharmacy also has 2 staff Pharmacists, Steve Eggerd RPh. and Jenna Day PharmD. Steve has been a pharmacist since 1993 and has worked for Pamida, Meijer Inc. and The Apothecary Shoppe. Jenna is the most recent addition to the Nimkee Pharmacy. She graduated in 2016 and was employed by Kmart before coming to the Nimkee Pharmacy. Nimkee Pharmacy also has three pharmacy technicians: Lola Langlois, Chris Hyde, and Dawn Baxter. The pharmacy technicians have over a total of 50 years of experience between them. The pharmacy staff are personable, compassionate, and great listeners.
Additional Services
The pharmacy also administers clinical programs in collaboration with the Nimkee physicians in the clinic. There is a smoking cessation program giving patients access to nicotine patches, gum and/or lozenges. The pharmacy also carries Nicotrol inhalers, Chantix, and Zyban tablets. The choice of which product to use is based on the smoking habits of the patient. We also dose and monitor those patients in the clinic that are taking warfarin, a blood thinner. The correct dose of warfarin is determined by the pharmacist after reviewing any lab work. This saves the patient and physician time, and returned visits to the clinic are fewer. The pharmacy also works in collaboration with Nimkee Clinic physicians with pain contracts.
