The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s Victim of Crime Program is pleased to welcome Kaelyn Kerr as our new Senior Victim of Crime Advocate! Kaelyn is originally from Grand Rapids and comes to us from her position at Anishaanbeg Child and Family Services as a caseworker. She has also worked for a Domestic Violence resource center and shelter in Tampa, Florida. Kaelyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Substance use from Central Michigan University in 2020. She is very passionate in helping the community in any capacity she is able.
Jaide currently resides in Mt. Pleasant with her red heeler Fiona (6) and orange tabby cat Jet (11). Prior to working at the courts, she has spent the majority of her working life helping the public in some capacity, having worked the past 7 years in the optical industry. She achieved her bachelor’s degree in Family Studies with a double minor in Women and Gender Studies and Psychology. On the nerdier side, Jaide enjoys spending time playing video games, being particularly fond of retro games. She also enjoys the arts, drawing and painting during free time.
