Internships

The Ziibiwing Center is currently offering 2 non-paid internship positions per term. These positions are available from January-April, May-August, September-December. The available internship positions are: Marketing & Events Intern and Cultural Resource Management/Collections Intern.

Cultural Resource Management/ Collections Intern

This position serves as the Intern to the Cultural Resource Management Team Leader/Collections System Manager for the Ziibiwing Center (ZC). The Cultural Resource Management/Collections Intern will be responsible for assisting with the safe and secure storage and ongoing care of the collections held at the Ziibiwing Center. This position will also assist in preparing artifacts, specimens, and/or works of art for exhibition, coordinating aspects of borrowing and lending objects, and digital imaging of artifacts for collections management systems. This position requires high standards of duty and responsibility in regards to the care and handling of extremely valuable Anishinabek artifacts and archives, as well as proficiency with various computer software/computer applications, and strong organizational skills.

Marketing & Events Internship

This position serves as the Intern to the Sales and Events Coordinator for the Ziibiwing Center (ZC). All visitors will receive excellent customer service from this division whether it be a phone call for bookings, marketing request, special event, special guest, workshop or questions about the Ziibiwing Center or the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan. The Marketing & Events Intern position will be responsible for developing marketing plans, enhancing events and following through with marketing endeavors dealing with special events and programming.
